Spicy Korean fried chicken (Yangnyeom Chicken, 양념치킨)!
Yangnyeom chicken is double deep fried chicken that is coated with sticky, spicy and sweet sauce. For this recipe I used K-Pop's new Honey Glaze Sauce: https://www.kpopfoods.com and I have to tell you, these were some of the BEST wings I have EVER had!
1 small yellow onion, minced
2 cloves garlic, minched
1/4 cup rice wine
1 tablespoon fish sauce
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 cup corn (or potato) starch
2/3 cups all purpose flour
salt and pepper
Marinade wings in for about one hour.
Remove wings from marinade and coat with cornstarch, flour, salt and pepper mixture.
Deep fry in 350ºF oil for 4-5 minutes.
Remove wings from oil and allow to drain.
Fry wings again for another 3 minutes.
Toss wings in sauce, garnish with sesame seeds and serve.
