Yummy sweet pooris for an interesting breakfast or lunch.
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup yogurt
1 yellow banana whole, unpeeled
1 cup refined flour
3 tbsps warm ghee
Salt to taste
¼ tsp baking powder
1 tsp freshly roasted, grounded cumin powder
Oil to deep fry
1. Add powder sugar and yogurt in a bowl. Combine with a whisk until the mixture turns creamy. Add banana and mash it. Combine well. Add refined flour, warm ghee, salt, baking powder, cumin powder. Mix well. Knead into medium soft dough. Cover with a moist muslin cloth and set aside for 2 hours.
2. Divide dough into equal portions and take a portion on a worktop, dust with flour and roll into medium thick discs with a rolling pin.
3. Heat sufficient oil in a non-stick kadai, add a disc and deep fry on medium heat till the puri turns golden brown in colour and it puffs up. Drain on an absorbent paper.
4. Transfer puris in a serving bread basket.
5. Serve hot.
