1 tbsp Ghee
1 tsp Cumin seeds
1 inch Cinnamon stick
1 Bay leaf
1/4 tsp Asafoetida
1 tsp Ginger paste
1 cup Spinach, chopped
2 Tomatoes, chopped
1/2 tsp Red Chilli powder
1/2 tsp Garam Masala powder
1/4 tsp Cumin seed powder
1/2 tsp Raw Mango powder
2 Green Chillies, chopped
1/2 cup Brown Chickpeas (soaked&cooked)
3 cups Rice, boiled
1 tbsp Coriander leaves, chopped
8-10 Mint Leaves
Method of preparation:
In a vessel, heat ghee, add cumin seeds, cinnamon, bay leaf, once the cumin seeds splutter add asafoetida.
Add ginger paste, onion, potato, salt, spinach, tomatoes, mix well and add water.
Cover it with lid and let it simmer on low flame till the potatoes cook.
Add red chilli powder, garam masala powder, cumin seed powder, raw mango powder, green chillies, brown chickpeas, rice and mix well.
Add salt, coriander leaves, mint leaves, give it a final stir, add water, cover it and let it simmer.
Our Chana Pulao is ready to serve.
